24 Hour Relay

Please read all the information below before registering your team!

General Information: The Race will begin at 2:30pm on May 10, 2019. The entire event will take place  on the Del Oro High School track. The entrance to the track is located off Boyington Rd Loomis, CA.

How do I sign up a team?  All teams except Staff and Middle School register online. Registration closes 5/2/19 at midnight. To register your team you only need to put down a $100 deposit. Team Leaders will receive a registration confirmation email from Ultrasignup. At the bottom of the email there will be a link to forms and further instructions on how to complete registration for their team. This will include choosing team shirt color, team name, obtaining liability waivers from the rest of the team and turning them in along with final payment May 9th at packet pickup at the Del Oro cafeteria (checks should be made payable to; Go the Distance).  Staff and Middle school teams will register manually through their school representative. Divisions: There are 6 divisions:
Ultraman- One solo runner.
Open Adult- Maximum 10 runners any combination of male or female 15 or enrolled in high school.
Adult Women- Maximum  10 female runners at least 15 years old or enrolled in high school.
High School- Maximum 10 HS students any combination of male or female.
Loomis Middle school- Maximum 20 MS  students any combination of male or female.
Staff teams- Maximum 20 runners any combination male or female.(LUSD and Del Oro only). 

Cost: The entry fee for all teams is $1000 with the exception of Staff teams which are $200 and Ultraman which is $500.  

Age requirement: The minimum age to participate on a 24-hour relay team is 15 years old or enrolled in high school. LUSD Middle School students are the only exception to this rule and they may participate on 20 person middle school teams only.

How it works: One runner per team carries the team’s timing chip that records the completed laps. Runners may pass the chip to another team member whenever they choose but must be in the transition area just past the start finish line. At the start finish line there is a timing chip scanner that will record the number of laps your team has completed.

How does this benefit the schools?: All entry fee proceeds will be donated to a school of your choice from Loomis School District/Del Oro. 

Only registered runners will be allowed on the track: Runner wristbands and GTD race shirt must be worn at all times.

Camp set up:  Camp set up can begin on Friday morning, May 10th. There will be required campsite check in/check out procedures. (Further details will be provided at packet pick up.) Suggested camp items: EZ ups, lounge chairs, tables, sleeping bags, tents, camp decorations. Please note: There will be no staking on the turf fields so please ensure you have weights to secure your ez-Ups in the event of wind. Fire pits of any kind are not allowed.  There will be a trash bin at the exit of the track at the end of the event. Fully enclosed tents are not allowed for high School or Middle School divisions. There will be an award given for best camp- so be creative!

Infield access: Volunteers and up to 5 guests per adult team will be allowed on the infield. Registered runners, volunteers, and Middle School Chaperones will get a permanent wristband that will allow them access for the entire event. Each adult team will receive 5 guest pass lanyards which will allow different guests throughout the event. Runners, guests and volunteers must be wearing a wristband or lanyard to enter the infield. 

Tech Race shirts: Each team will choose a team name when ordering shirts. Team names will be printed on the back of the tech race shirt.  A variety of colors will be available for your selection.  Colors are available on a first come first serve basis. You will receive a confirmation email from UltrasignUp after registering. At the bottom of that email will be a link to forms including a shirt order form which you will complete and submit online no later than 5/2/19. Click here to see available colors.
Facilities: Del Oro High School, 3301 Taylor Rd. Loomis. The track is easily accessible off Boyington Road. (map) The school will have restrooms available, ample parking and lighting on the track. The track is .25 of a mile all-weather track. 

Food: There will NOT be a snack bar.  Frozen In Time Shaved Ice and Big Tree Coffee trucks will be there periodically throughout the event.
Awards: The Open Division, Adult female, High School and Ultraman team with the most miles will be awarded a prize. The winning middle school team will win the perpetual GTD trophy. The team with the best decorated camp also wins a prize.

: All registered 24 Hour Relay runners  may also run the 5K Aqua Color Run at no additional cost. Your 24 Hour Relay wristband will give you access to the Color Run course.   (no t-shirt)

This race will take place rain or shine, no refunds will be granted for any reason.
